Beta's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Beta's Story...
Beta is a perfect dog. Perfect. At not yet 2 years old she is ready for you to put on the finishing touches. She is a great size at 45 pounds and knee high. Beta knows all her basic commands. She gets along with everyone and everything. Is housebroken, crate trained, walks great on a lead or off. She LOVES people, dogs and cats. Plays ball, rides in the car, long hikes, you name it.

We are looking for a home with children and a playful canine companion for Beta, because we think that this would make her happiest. Keep in mind that as a cattle dog, mouthiness and a drive for herding are natural for Beta. If you are uncomfortable with a dog who grabs your clothing or that of your children when excited, herding breeds are not for you.

If you would like to meet Beta, please fill out our online application at: www.secondchancesalem.org Her adoption fee is $400.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Beta, a Salem Cattle Dog/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cattle Dog/Beagle for sale in Salem, or seeking a Cattle Dog/Beagle dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cattle Dog/Beagle breeders who help with Cattle Dog/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
