My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We believe Lexi may be a Bengal or Bengal mix, and she has beautiful green eyes. She is very much a lap cat and is very serene, sweet and gentle. She lives in our kitten room and cuddles up with kittens to sleep; she lets the kittens eat first then nibbles at the leftovers. She is tall and exotic looking, but she also has cerebellar hypoplasia, a congenital birth defect that simply makes her quite uncoordinated with her back legs. This affliction never worsens, doesn't cause pain and doesn't affect her lifespan, but it just calls for you to accommodate her a little, like maybe a carpet play drum by your bed so she can climb up, or helping her down out of a chair instead of letting her tumble off awkwardly. Since she has no front claws, she can't do much climbing because she can't pull herself up like a cat with claws can. She enjoys a cup-style bed or doggie basket on the floor to nap in since she can brace herself against the sides and feel more comfortable. She's very food oriented so you'll need to watch her weight since extra pounds will make her have to work harder to get around on her wobbly back legs. Take a look at some of the cerebellar hypoplasia cat videos on U-Tube, especially CHARLEY. Lexi isn't quite as wobbly as Charley but that sweet video will tell you more about this.
