Pepper is a small male black Labrador mix. He is recovering from a broken leg when he jumped down from the hood of a truck that he was chained too and got his leg tangled in the chain. He used to be in a large fenced area with a lot of other dogs but he was attacked by them and almost killed. So, poor thing, had to be chained to be kept safe. Now he is having to live his life in a crate because he can't be in the pen and he can't be chained.
Pepper has never been socialized so he is shy and nervous around strangers. He is a sweet, loving dog who needs lots of patience to adjust and learn all that he's never been able to experience before.
Pepper has been neutered and received his vaccinations. Another blow to poor Pepper is that he tested positive for heartworms, for which he is receiving treatment.
Pepper is small, weighing about 40# and is approximately 20' at the shoulders. His estimated date of birth is 4-15-13.
