Bear's Story...
Bear is 188 pounds of big, loveable teddy bear/puppy. He is current on all his vaccinations. We give him monthly flea & tick prevention. He sheds alot and drools some. Bear loves to run and play, but tires quickly. He will do best with alot of space to play/relax. He will sit, shake, and heel on command. Bear loves to walk and wade in the lake. He gets really excited and trys to take off running when his collar is switched over, and he knows it's time for a walk, so be prepared! He will requre alot of brushing to help shed his winter coat. Bear is a good watch dog, he barks and lets us know if anything unusual is approching our home. Bear like to have the sole attention, he gets along with other dogs, but will show some dominence if another dog gets between him and his food, when it's first served. He likes to chase cats, he's never hurt one, but if they turn and run, the chase is on:) Bear is trained with an underground fence, and does very well. He loves the cool weather, but can get overheated easily in the summer. The best part of Bear is his love for children, he trys very hard to not knock them down, due to his large size and he settles down more once the initial excitment to play settles in. He's never shown any aggression towards people, and he is gorgeous!

Bear is a 2 year old Great Pyrenees/lab mix. He weighs about 188 pounds. Bear had been adopted but his new family had had critical health problems and can no longer care for him. Bears adoption fee is $200.00 If you are interested in adopting Bear, please complete the adoption application at http://www.secondchancedogrescueofiowa.com/adoption-app.html Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bear, a Prole Great Pyrenees/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Pyrenees/Labrador Retriever for sale in Prole, or seeking a Great Pyrenees/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Prole.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Prole already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Prole breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Pyrenees/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Great Pyrenees/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Prole paves the way for another one to be saved.
