Odin-courtesy post's Story...
**COURTESY POST ONLY!**
NOTE: This dog is not a CDR dog and any information on the dog has been provided by the current owner/rescue and NOT by CDR.
Odin is a 5 year old Pit Mix. I am trying to find him a new home. I need help! I found out about a dog whose owner died and the daughter was going to euthanize because she didn't feel like caring for the dog. I drove out to Rosemont and picked him up. He is currently boarding at a vet. I can't keep him at my house because I have three dogs so I'm looking for help finding him a new home. I don't want to take him to ACC. This dog has been kept in a kennel for most of his life. He is diabetic but his previous owner didn't take him to the vet until he was ketotic and almost died. He has muscle atrophy in his back and legs from being in a kennel so much. I absolutely love this guy but because of his history, he has a few things that seem to be triggers. I just know with some mental stimulation and training that he will be INCREDIBLE. He is so good on our walks and carries around a toy. He wags his whole body when he sees me and kisses me on the chin. The people working at the vet say that when they try to put him in his kennel he is standoffish. I personally have not had this issue with him so I'm wondering if they are just rushing it because they are so busy. (I can hardly blame the poor guy for not wanting to go back in this kennel.) I am so worried that because he's diabetic, because he needs a little behavior work, and because he's a Pit that all the cards are stacked against him. He needs a home that will show him what love means!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Odin-courtesy post, a Schaumburg Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Schaumburg, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Schaumburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Schaumburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Schaumburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Schaumburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
