Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Um, hi, I'm Carter. You won't mind if I hide over here for a minute will you? They say I'm from a place called a puppy mill. I don't know what that is, but I do know that were I was before here wasn't very nice. I was in a cage all the time and never went outside or saw very many people at all. As a result, I'm not very trusting at first and I'm really shy of new people. Now that I've been in my foster home a couple weeks, I'm really comfortable with the people here, and I've learned to trust them, but its taken time. I love to snuggle on the couch with them now, but if I get scolded, I will run and hide for hours! You see, I get scared very easily. I do ok with house noises (TV, phone, even the vacuum), but I don't like loud voices at all! I really like our friend’s 2-year old daughter though; she gives me very sweet petting’s and likes it when I give her kisses.
Since I never had to do it before, I forget that I have to potty outside sometimes. I'm getting better, but I'm not quite there yet. I sleep in my crate at night and during the day when no ones home, and although I fuss a little at first, I usually settle down pretty quick. I like being outside if the people I trust are there, but if they don't come with, I often won't even go off the deck. I think the perfect family for me be a laid-back lazy day kind of a person who would be content to let me sleep on the couch or out in the sun all day while you work in the yard. What do you think? Does that sound like a plan?
