Hello there! My name is Trina and I am a 4 year old mixed breed female. I am still a bit of a shy girl, as I did not have a lot of human interaction in my life. I came from a home where there were quite a few other dogs, but we lived every day in fear, as we were not treated as companions, but more like objects.
The shelter staff thought I might do well in a foster home, to see if I could improve. When I first came to stay, I would not come to anyone, not even to get a treat, boy has that changed! My foster family shows me lots of love and shows me I can trust people and not to fear them. I also love being around other dogs, I would just need to meet them before going home with them. I would love for my forever home to have dogs, as they make me feel very comfortable. I bonded very quickly with my foster dogs, dogs are the best! Over time, I became more and more comfortable in my foster home. We are working on me knowing my name and some other skills. Tiny steps forward are so rewarding! The key to success with me is patience. Patience to gain my trust and patience to help me move forward at my pace. I am housebroken and walk very nicely on a leash. I sleep by my foster mom’s bed at night and have the most adorable little hop when I am happy! I only have a partial tail but when I am happy, it wiggles my whole body. I greet my foster mom with that hop every day when she gets home from work! I am looking for a forever home who can show me the love my foster family has shown me, has other dogs for me to play with, and has older children, preferably 10 and older, who will respect me.
My foster mommy says I am a good dog with the potential to be so much more if only given the time to grow! Will you help me grow?!
If you would like to know more about me and schedule a meet and greet, please call the Lifesaving Coordinator at (484)302-0864 or email mgarber@bvspca.org.

About Chester County SPCA

About Our Shelter...

Founded in 1929, the Chester County SPCA is totally independent of any other animal welfare organization. The CCSPCA is supported through voluntary contributions and fundraising events such as the annual Benefit Horse Show and the Walk for Paws.

Committed to providing services that solve the problems of animal suffering due to cruelty, neglect, ignorance, and overpopulation, we approach these problems not just through animal control, but also (and more importantly) through proactive programs aimed at the causes of animal problems.

An award-winning shelter, the CCSPCA is one of the finest, cleanest, most carefully run shelters in the country. This year we will take in over 5,000 homeless, unwanted, or abused animals from Chester and Delaware Counties in Pennsylvania.

Each animal we rescue is lovingly cared for. Thousands receive shelter, food, vaccinations and a physical exam, and every attempt is made to find responsible, permanent homes for them.

Our Adoption Process...

Here’s what you need to bring to complete an adoption:

A current driver’s license (If your license doesn't show your current address, please bring the Change of Address supplement for your license or another proof of your current address.)
Proof of current rabies vaccination for any cat(s) and/or dog(s) currently in your home (state law requirement)
If you rent, proof of landlord approval for the pet you are considering (A copy of your lease is best to be sure you’re matched with an animal appropriate for the terms of your rental.)
If you're adopting a dog:
All people living in the home need to meet the dog to be sure he/she will be a good fit for everyone.
Any dogs already in your home need to meet the potential new family member to see if they’re likely to get along. (It may be easiest to first visit the shelter to select a dog and then go home to pick up any existing dogs. We’ll be happy to put a dog on hold for you for a few hours so you can pick up your dog(s).)
Please note that we only require that you offer suitable exercise; we don't require a fenced-in yard nor do we require home visits.
Appropriate handling items for the animal you are adopting: a carrier for a cat or other small animal (or one can be purchased for a small fee), a leash if you are adopting a dog
Necessary fees for adoption (Our adoption fees are available on this page: Adoption Fees.)
Please note that you do NOT need to be a resident of Chester County to adopt from us.
