My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jade is an energetic and fun-loving German Shepherd Mix that is available for adoption at our Humane Society. We transferred her from the Friends 4 Pound Paws rescue in December 2016 after she was left unclaimed by an owner at a dog pound. We believe she is ~1 year old, and she weighs 51lbs with some growing and filling out to get to her full weight and size.

Jade has made a lot of friends here at our Humane Society, both human and canine. She loves to go outdoors to play loose in our fenced yards with other dogs, and enjoys going for leash walks in the woods with our staff and volunteers. She has a lot of energy and will need an active person or family that will be able to exercise and play with her every day. We are not sure if she is good around young children, but she has been well behaved around kids 8 years and older. She wants to chase cats that run from her, but has respected cats that stand their ground here at the shelter.

Jade has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She has tested positive for lyme disease, but does not have any of the clinical symptoms. Under the guidance of a veterinarian we have started her initial 30 day antibiotic treatment. To find out more about lyme disease in dogs, please visit the following websites:

Please contact us if you would like to find out more about Jade, or stop by and ask to meet her in person here at our Humane Society's shelter.

An approved adoption application is required to adopt a pet from our Humane Society. Our application form is available on our website or by contacting us for a copy. You may submit your completed application via email, postal mail or in person when we are open. Visit our website for more adoption information.
