We welcome specific questions. Due to high volume of applications, we may not be able to respond immediately. Your patience is appreciated.
If an animal is on our website, it is still available but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, it is in your best interest to submit an application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
As an all-volunteer, foster home based organization, ARF does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we must give priority to pre-approved applicants.
Female, spayed, about 5 years old (as of March 2017), microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, currently in a foster home, will be making appearances at ARF Adoption Events (see https://www.facebook.com/A.R.F.Illinois for times and locations), adoption fee $110.
Smokey is a gem and what a beauty with her Russian Blue looks. She is hoping you will take a shine to her and take her home!! She is super friendly, loving anyone and everyone. She gets along with other cats and with dogs.
If you are interested in meeting Smokey, you can fill out an online adoption application at http://www.arf-il.org/application.html Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting with the cat. Filling out the application does not obligate you in any way.
Smokey will also be making appearances at ARF Adoption events. See https://www.facebook.com/A.R.F.Illinois for times and locations.
If you’re invited to meet an animal, plan to arrive on time or early,
as we cannot hold animals.
All household members must be present at time of adoption, including dogs.
We appreciate your cooperation.
Your message has been sent to A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation.
You'll receive a copy, too, at to help you keep track of which pets you've inquired about, and which shelters and rescues you've emailed.
NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures, on the pet's details page on Adopt-a-Pet.com.
