My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sami, the Seal Mitted Siberian

Yes, that's right. Sami is a purebred Seal Mitted Siberian, 2 years old.

Sami is a stunning boy, on the large side. He is initially a little bit shy, actually more timid than shy, and considering he probably came from a bad situation in Kuwait, that is pretty understandable.

Within minutes of being with you, though, he is fine and asking for attention. He just needs a few minutes longer to warm up to people.

Because of this we're looking for a quieter home, probably with no small children. He is great with other cats and in fact we would prefer that he go to a home with other cats.

Now, before you say to yourself A SIBERIAN and think that the cat is hypoallergenic, please note that there is no such thing as a truly hypoallergenic cat. Before you, who might be allergic to cats, think that you have finally found the cat of your dreams because this cat is hypoallergenic, please note that there is no such thing as a truly hypoallergenic cat. We will be carefully weeding out potential adopters who want to adopt Sami only because he is a Siberian.

If you're interested in adopting this magnificent cat, please contact us at merlinshoperagdollrescue@gmail.com for an application. He is in a foster home in Ennis, Texas. His adoption fee is $275.

Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states.

Who We Are: We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. Adopters must make appointments prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you call or email us, we will provide you with an application via email.

YOUNG CAT COMPANION POLICY: Unless otherwise indicated, all cats under the age of 3 must go into a home with another cat/kitten under the age of three or be adopted with a buddy. Ragdolls and Maine Coons are physically slow to mature, benefit greatly from the social interactions with another cat and often long for the companionship. Obviously, some young adults not raised around other cats or with more independent personalities may be exceptions to those rules, but that is up to the discretion of the Rescue to assess that need and is not negotiable. Special prices are made for buddy adoptions.
