My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A Schnauzer/Scottish Terrier (Scotty Dog) mix is a perfect combo for those with who are searching for an extremely smart and loyal family dog with that additional flair. They're famous for their great personalities and extremely loving and snuggly ways. Terriers are also known to love being a part of a family...so great with their people and other dogs. And since they require a certain amount of exercise (like all dogs) and love being with their people...if a walk or hike is the order of the day - count them in! Cole will be overjoyed to cruise the neighborhood paths and trails...and then crashing on the couch snuggling close to his favorite humans and canines.

Cole is an absolutely adorable and sweet guy who deserves a great forever home. He's just a 16 week old baby who was dumped in a park in New Mexico to fend for himself. It's not Cole's style to dwell on his tough puppyhood...he's sweet as can be and loving his stroke of good luck to have a chance at a great life.

Cole appears to be a non-shedding (or very lightly shedding) puppy and will therefore require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep his coat healthy and cottony-soft. As the sad hair of his homeless days grows out, Cole's coat will grow in showing off the stunning black/white and silver streaks of a healthy coat.

Cole's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated. He's just a puppy and therefore a blank slate. He's just waiting for a dog-crazy guardian to be his leader and shows Cole that the world can be a loving and respectful place.

Cole, with his great temperament, thinks everyone wants to be his friend. He is always overjoyed to see you...his tail will start the greeting and it wiggles up through his entire body ending in a smile. And if your lap is available, up Cole wants to go to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of his devotion. Cole is such a wonderful being...we think he represents the best qualities of the Schnauzer and Terrier breeds.

Since his rescue Cole is blossoming into a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier his family is with his behavior, the more he shines with his accomplishments. We would like to see Cole in a home that includes him in family time and activities...he's a very engaging puppy and would thrive in a family that truly loves him and considers him a very important family member. We'd wouldn't be open to placing Cole in a home where all family members are gone for the entire day. He's just a young, sensitive guy who wouldn't be happy with that arrangement.

Cole would be a wonderful companion for retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable puppy who is searching for love. He also would do well in a family setting with very gentle kids. We don't believe Cole requires another dog to be happy...but he does love his relationships with kind and fun-loving dogs.

Cole will not be neutered when he arrives in Denver - while we request it, there just aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of New Mexico. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Cole's's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used.

Cole will be arriving on transport in Denver in late March. If interested in this sweet and engaging puppy, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
