My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are looking for a great companion and family pet, you need look no further than this sweet boy. JR is a young dog but already he is proving to be a well adjusted, eager to please and loving companion. He is just under 2 years old and currently weighs 50 lbs.

Here is what his foster mom had to say:

JR is a very gentle, playful, intelligent and affectionate dog . He loves meeting new people and animals (cats included) and greets them with a smile. JR has lots of energy when playing at the dog park and can settle down easily if you are working at home. He is good at fetching his rope and bringing it back at your feet, loves sleeping beside you and is always up for a good belly rub.

JR appears to be a very healthy boy. His has gorgeous white teeth and appears to have just gotten out of the puppy stage. He is very in-tune to his surroundings and can be low to high energy depending on the situation. He picks up on your energy and knows how to chill when you are working and turns on medium to high energy at the dog park. He is low shedding.

JR loves everyone! He has been friendly with every person he has met so far, including children. He is not shy with anyone and he doesn’t appear to have any known fears of anything. He is great around other dogs and has met one cat so far– He went over to the cat, smelled her and walked away. JR loves to go to the dog park, meeting new friends and going on long walks.

JR is generally quiet in the home, with the occasional whine to let you know when he wants to go for a walk or pee. He knows quite a few commands such as ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘up’ and ‘okay’, and he responds very well to tone and gestures. He also will come running when you call him at the park. I feel he could easily be trained off leash while on hikes and wouldn’t bolt. He is fully house trained and hasn’t had an accident in the house. We are not using a crate for him as he can be left alone in the home without any issues. He hasn’t gotten into anything that he shouldn’t and is content chewing on his bone.

JR is very good on leash and walks beside you with minimal pull. He also waits for you to catch up while walking up stairs and does a very cute head turn to check and see which step you are on. JR is pretty good in the car, but whines. He is getting better daily though, as he is beginning to realize that when we are in the car we are going somewhere fun.

JR is a great choice for a family pet. He would do well in a home with another dog, cat or child and will need a long daily walk or trip to the leash free park to keep him happy 🙂
