My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Harley is a chunky, eight-year-old, black and tan Dachshund who was surrendered to a shelter and rescued by UAAF. We think perhaps his elderly owner could no longer care for him and family members surrendered him. He is house broken and is good around children and other dogs. Whether he likes cats is unknown.

This boy is a lover! He is absolutely adorable! He loves everyone, is friendly and outgoing. It’s clear that whomever raised this cute boy showered him with love. He is energetic for being eight-years-old and jumps up and down when you arrive home or let him know it’s time to eat. No surprise, this chubby boy needs to be on a diet and is currently eating diet kibble. He also sits up on his hunches and begs for treats. Very food motivated.

Harley loves to play in the yard or lounge in the sunshine on the porch or near a window. He minds well, but will need a secure, fenced yard. He’s a trickster and will find any opening he can pop his chubby body though and take a walk! He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night. Harley does bark, but not excessively, to warn you of approaching strangers.

UAAF provided Harley with much needed dental work, vaccinations, and he was neutered and groomed. He will make a wonderful companion for a family with older children, or an older couple or single person who can give him the love, time, attention and walks he needs.
