I am Geneva. I’m a pretty Black Mouth Cur / German Shepherd mix and I weigh around 50 pounds. I was born around April 2015 and now I’m almost 2 year old.
I feel blessed to be living in a loving foster home and I’m very proud to say that I have learned so much already. I’m fully house and crate trained. As per foster mom, I’m a joy to walk on leash and I know basic commands. I have an average energy level and never bark. I get along with all of my other furry foster siblings, three in total of various sizes, too. My foster mom describes me as sweet, smart, affectionate, loyal and a cuddly kind of girl.
It wasn’t always as easy and bubbly as it is now. I used to live on the streets, struggling to survive. I did not encounter many kind people either. When I crossed path with my rescue ladies, I was pregnant and about to give birth any moment. So they scooped me up right away. I must admit, I was very afraid. I gave birth to 7 beautiful babies, who are all in loving forever homes now.
They used to call me a ‘hot mess’. I know that sounds pretty harsh but I was quite traumatized from having to live in a noisy kennel environment. I was just so scarred because I didn’t understand what was going on. Luckily, my now foster parents came along and took me into their home to give me a chance to relax.
I then graduated to a ‘warm mess’. It took me a little while to get familiar with my new home and humans and I can’t thank them enough for giving me the time to adjust. I initially avoided contact with everyone. Then, I felt I could trust foster mom and foster kids. I still wasn’t so sure about foster dad but I would allow him to occasionally feed me those yummy treats. One evening, they tricked me. They just tugged me into their bed. I did not move and slept right between their heads all night. It’s funny I didn’t mind foster dad right next to me then. In fact, sleeping in between them, has been the safest I ever felt in my life.
My foster parents are such kind humans and with their help, my life has tuned into a sweet blessing. Thanks mom and dad for being so patient with me. Thanks for teaching me to trust again and how to be the perfect canine companion.

**This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas but is available for transport to most major US and Canadian cities via United Airlines PetSafe for an additional $275. A customs fee may apply at Canadian airports. Ground transportation to Colorado is available for $75, and several locations in the northeastern US for $175.
We are a street dog rescue in Houston, Texas seeking to place rescued dogs in loving homes across the US and Canada. Our region has more homeless animals than homes, so we look outside of our area for adopters.
The adoption fee of $200 covers spay/neuter, microchip and current vaccines.
