My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BUDDY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

If you are looking for an easy-going, sweet-as-they-come companion, look no further than Buddy. This precious boy was found as a stray in south Texas and was taken to the local shelter. No one claimed Buddy, so the shelter volunteers contacted a rescue that could help this little guy find a forever family -- one that will never let him roam the streets again.

Buddy is estimated to be about 10 years old and he weighs approximately 14 pounds. According to his foster family, Buddy has been a wonderful house guest and a gem of a dog.

Buddy gets along well with his foster brothers and sisters. He does not do well in a crate while his foster family is away, but he does fine being confined to a room with a baby gate. He sleeps quietly in his crate at night but wants to have a line of sight to his foster mom. He likes to go for slow walks, strolls beautifully on a leash and is house trained. He adores toys, but most of all, he’s perfectly content just hanging out with you and being your buddy.

During his vet visit, it was discovered that Buddy had a tick-borne disease called Anaplasmosis, for which he has been treated and is doing well. It was also discovered that he has a healed ulcer on his right eye, which might limit some of his sight in that eye, and that he has a dry-eye condition that requires drops twice a day, which are administered with ease. If Buddy has any vision limitations, it does not slow him down.

He is completely vetted and ready to meet his lucky new family.

Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
