Katana's Story...
Katana is a 7-month old red Shiba Inu puppy, surrendered to a shelter for resource guarding issues. He also played rough with the other dogs and guarded many of his toys from the other dogs. He is now sharing his toys and any disputes are quickly redirected and rewarded for releasing. Katana has also made a lot of progress with his resource guarding with people and his foster mom has his trust with food, treats, and high-value items but he is still in behavior modification and assessment stage. We have high hopes for Katana because he came to us at such a young age and he is thriving with reward-based training. If you are interested in Katana, be sure to read our resources on our training page and our puppy page:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Katana, a Manassas Shiba Inu puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shiba Inu for sale in Manassas, or seeking a Shiba Inu puppy from a breeder in Manassas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Manassas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Manassas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shiba Inu breeders who help with Shiba Inu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Manassas paves the way for another one to be saved.
