My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This little boy looks like a westie mix. He is about 2 yrs old and 12lbs and was just found running on the streets all alone. He was so matted that we had to have the groomer shave him down, but his coat is growing in nicely. He has the cutest big ears!! His foster says he gets along with everyone, likes people and even does ok so far with the cat! He does have a little bit of an off gait when he runs and the vet said he has a slight patella luxation, but not enough to warrant surgery. He does well on a leash, seems to be pretty well house trained and is just an adorable little boy.

The total adoption donation of $525 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. The application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/

Just as a note, if you are in Massachusetts and are adopting directly from Texas rather than from a local foster, there are new quarantine laws in effect. All rescues must be quarantined 48 hours at a state run facility, and in addition, a second interstate health certificate is required to be issued by a Massachusetts vet. This new law may add an additional cost.
