These two girls are tiny even for almost 6 wks of age and maybe 2lbs. Possibly Mini collies x. They both had their first vaccine, dewormer. very cute, loveable we did some pics just to show how small they are. First transport to an adoptive home would be the 15th. Working on puppies names for these two.

Most available pets for adoption start in foster care in KY/TN. This allows for time to start each animal on a vetting schedule ie de-wormer, vaccines, vet apts. This is for the animals health & well being.
This rescue has two forms of adoption and animals are posted where future foster homes may be. Direct adoption which is once an animal had been out of the shelter for 2 plus wks has two or more 5 way vaccines and your able to meet transport and take the pup home. Meet n greet adoption is IF the pet is not adopted first and arrives in foster care up north. This will occur once all vaccines, vetting and willing foster home is available. Transport takes adopted pets first from all agencies so availability depends on the transport companies open spots.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lexie/ADOPTED, a Waterbury Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Waterbury, or seeking a Collie puppy from a breeder in Waterbury.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waterbury already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waterbury breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waterbury paves the way for another one to be saved.
