My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cruz is just a young guy and is learning about the ways of the world. He loves his time outside in the sunshine with his foster and is enjoying learning new socialization skills...he's a very engaging and cuddly guy! Any time a fun adventure is the order of the day - count Cruz in! Both Labs and Poodles are known to engage joyfully and energetically and then crash on the couch snuggling close to their favorite humans and canines. We're not swearing that Cruz is a Labradoodle...this breed mix was suggested by a Texas vet and we agree it's possible...however it's always difficult to know for certain.

Cruz is as cute as can be.. and a very sweet guy who's so grateful to be free from his days at the shelter. Cruz's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated...he makes close playmates everywhere he goes. Cruz is friendly (while perhaps initially shy) and that means everyone he meets has the potential to become a close companion. You know when a loved one approaches, Cruz's tail starts the greeting and it wiggles up through his entire body ending in a smile. And if the couch is available, up Cruz loves to go to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of his devotion.

Cruz is such a wonderful being...we think he represents the best qualities of his breeds. At 18 - 24 months old and 35 lbs (the perfect size to love hiking the Colorado trails with his family), Cruz seems to have left behind the neglect and lack of love that made up his early life. He has become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier his family is with his behavior, the more he shines with his accomplishments. We would like to see Cruz in a home that includes him in family time and activities...he'd love to be involved and would thrive in a forever home that truly loves him and considers him a very important family member.

Cruz would be a wonderful companion for retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable young dog. Cruz would also be very happy in a family with gentle, dog-loving children. Cruz would be overjoyed to accompany his favorite people to the park, walking beautiful Colorado trails and even riding shotgun running errands. Cruz doesn't require another dog to be happy.(as long as he gets both physical exercise and mental stimulation from his people). He does, however, enjoy his canine relationships with kind and gentle dogs.

As per Cruz's Texas rescuers: Cruz arrived at the shelter with abrasions on his foot...and therefore was scheduled for euthanasia. We received a plea for Cruz's life and were very touched by his story...we were happy to save Cruz and welcome him into Farfel's Rescue.

Cruz is matted with a sad shelter coat... he will require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (salmon oil would be a great supplement for Cruz) to keep his coat healthy with a cottony-soft feel.

Cruz has been great with the rescue dogs in his foster home. He also enjoys his foster family and friends who have stopped over. Cruz is learning his leash skills and always tries so hard to do his best. Cruz is very ready for a great home and will bring so much love and kindness to his family. He's definitely a shelter favorite!

Cruz will arrive on transport in Denver on Friday 11/4/16. If interested in this very loving and devoted best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
