Ziggy is a 4 month old pure bred border collie. He was given up by a backyard breeder because he is deaf. But, who needs to hear when you have an incredible nose and beautiful eyes? This little guy is smart as a whip! He already knows several "signs" including sit, stay, come and down. He walks like an angel on a leash, is crate-trained and house-trained. When he came to Herding Haven, Ziggy had severe resource guarding over his food, treats and toys. He would growl and bite anyone or anything that he felt was threatening to take these things away from him. We have worked very hard on his resource guarding behaviors and he is doing MUCH better. Nonetheless, he will still need a herding breed savvy home who will continue to work through his resource guarding tendencies.
