My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Walter came to our rescue from the River Rouge Animal Shelter last year and this boy has had quite the life thus far! He was scooped up off the streets by a nice lady who was feeding a feral colony. She noticed his sweet disposition and thought he may be a tossed out house cat unlike his wild friends. He had been seen on his own for around 2 years. What a heartbreak for a guy who just wants to be loved. We guess him to be around 10 years old now.

After arriving into our rescue we found he had many medical needs and more seemed to surface as time went on. Many surgeries and medication trials later, we have him all figured out. Now, over a year later, he's stable and ready for a new home.

Walter is considered special needs. He is FIV positive. He does not mind a laid back cat friend but he is no fan of dogs. So no canine siblings allowed. He's extremely affectionate and playful. Mylar balls are his favorite! Probably because of the crinkly noise they make. His bad eye needed to be removed and the eye left needs 3 separate drops. The vision is impaired but not lost. He also takes one half of an apoquil pill twice per day for hyperesthesia. He gobbles it down easily in a pill pocket. He will need the eye drops and pills for the remainder of his life.

Walter may be one of the cutest and funnest cats I've fostered. With his bob tail, crinkled ear and missing eye he is just irresistible. Though he's likely a senior, he is a ton of fun and entertainment. Sadly, right now he's in a foster home with dogs and so he's stuck in one bedroom instead of having a whole house to explore which he wants so badly. This boy has been through so much in his life already. We really hope that special someone will give him the wonderful second half he deserves.
