Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Courtesy post for private party located in Modesto who has dogs dumped on her ranch regularly:
Pepper was found and reported to the local shelter on Jan. 8th of this year. Nobody claimed him and so the ranch family continued to take good care of him and found a rescue organization to take Pepper in/on! Pepper was quickly adopted out through the organization, but he also quickly had an incident where he was fearful and bit his adopter as he leaned over Pepper on the coach together.
The rescue group was going to "euthanize" Pepper if the ranch family wouldn't take him back, and so they did. Pepper is NOT an aggressive dog. Yet he is not a turn key, easy peasy pup either. He is sensitive and needs someone with a great deal of patience and understanding to go really slow with him and let him settle into his new environment and adjust to his new family and not put any pressure on him and certainly - not put your face into his or lean over him or try to pick him up! His adopter will need to go at Pepper's own, unique pace and have a good understanding that no two dogs are exactly alike and that Pepper is an individual!
If you have any interest in meeting Pep, please email us at shpssac@yahoo.com and we'll send you over a generic dog adoption application which will help his guardians first determine if you might be a good fit for one another and if so, they will then arrange for you to meet Pepper.
PS We think Pepper is approx. 2 years old and he weighs around 40 lbs.
