Fred is quite the handsome fella. He is very obedient and listens extremely well to commands, he's also house trained and very good in the house. You can leave him alone all day and not have to worry about what you will come home to....except for a dog as happy as could be to see you. He is very playful and absolutely loves to run around and play fetch. At the adoption events, and with new people that he meets, Fred does take a little while to warm up but once he does, he wants to be best friends. In the past Fred has shown some resource guarding tendencies towards high value items (rawhides, etc.) and as such he is best suited in a home that understands resource guarding and is willing to work with him. Due do this potential, we do suggest that Fred is not placed in a home with children. While Fred has lived with other dogs in foster and gets along great with other dogs that he meets, he is best suited in a home as an only dog. Fred has had an unfortunate lot in life, so far. He was diagnosed with megaesophagus, a condition that makes him regurgitate his food at times. Fred is ready to love someone and find his forever home - is there someone who is willing to open up your heart and home to this wonderful guy? Fred makes limited appearances at adoption events as sometimes he feels just a bit too overwhelmed with all the nice people trying to pet and play with him.
