My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Thor is a seven-year-old orange male cat. Thor was found wandering a neighborhood searching frantically for food; he was way beyond hungry. A volunteer that stopped to feed him loved his character, and brought him to us. Thor’s a big boy, coming in at 17 pounds. We couldn’t give him enough to eat when he first arrived! Thor also had several wounds and abscesses on the back of his head, testimony to the difficult life he was living. His feet were badly calloused, so we know he was no newcomer to the streets. Thor loves his new life of food, warmth, and safety. But you can see the wounded soul that lurks behind his beautiful green eyes. Thor is very affectionate, loves attention, and is quite the talker! He’s starting to learn to play, and we are teaching him to play more gently. Though he doesn’t have much, Thor loves his few possessions of cat bed and toys, and is very particular that they remain where he has them. We can picture Thor draped across a couch, his new BFF close by, and a full bowl of food awaiting Thor’s next foray! If that sounds like the cat for you, come meet this big boy. We think you might fall in love.

At PAAWS RI, all of the cats that come into our care are spayed/neutered, receive a rabies vaccination, distemper vaccinations, de-worming, flea treatment, microchipping, and testing for Feline Leukemia/FIV.
