Our sweet and so very cute Graham couldn't be more loving no matter how hard he tried. Graham is a 9 - 12 month old, 20 lb Schnauzer mix with Tibetan Terrier shining through. He is just waiting to be the love of someone's life.
Graham has had a very challenging period of time ending up in a high-kill Kansas shelter. Graham is now safe and sound…never to be cold or hungry again. But with it all, Graham doesn't hold a grudge and desires only to be the best companion possible. Since he is so young, Graham is a blank slate…open to all possibilities if treated kindly and with respect. Group training classes with his family and a positive reinforcement trainer would truly serve both Graham and his people. Together they will learn the skills to have him be a dog that is well-behaved in every situation. It also creates strong bonds of respect between pup and family. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of positive reinforcement trainers in your area.
Graham may initially be a bit shy when he's in new situations…but with love and respect…and of course some great treats…Graham is on his way to his favorite people's lap! He would also love to come along, be it to a dog-friendly workplace, on vacation or socializing..Graham would love to be there as Best Friend #1.
Graham's Kansas rescuer (who has fallen in love with this engaging little guy) had the following to say about Graham:
Graham is absolutely the little gentleman and the sweetest baby! I think Graham is the cutest scruffy mix with the most amazing dark eyes I've ever seen! He loves our mini schnauzer and even our opinionated kitty. Graham actually does really well with all the dogs and cats he's been exposed to. I think he might be thrilled if there was another dog in the house as he's very social in an extremely positive sort of way. He could do well as an only-dog if his family is very present and includes Graham as a true family member.
Graham is just naturally very clean about himself...always preferring to use the outdoor area. He's respectful of my home and tries so hard to have great behavior.
Graham is going to be the best companion ever for a very lucky family! He's been such a joy we can barely stand to see him go while wishing him the best life ever.
Farfel's Rescue envisions Graham in a home that will provide him with exercise and mental stimulation…other dogs help with play and socialization. He wouldn't be happy spending long hours alone…Graham is far too people-oriented to be happy with that. Retirees or a person who works from home would be great. Graham would love the companionship and consistency of those relationships. Being so young, he'd also learn that he's loved and cared for…a lesson that results in a happy and confident adult dog.
Graham will not be neutered when he arrives in Denver - while we request it, there just aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of Kansas. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Graham's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used.
