My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Baby, who her foster family now call Hannah, is a very sweet natured, quiet and unassuming girl. She is reserved but friendly, good with all other pets and children of all ages. She is fine left on her own for a normal working day and would do well as a second dog or as the only dog in the home. Baby is approximately 4 – 5 years old and currently weighs approximately 65 lbs.

Here is what her foster family had to say:

We call this sweet girl Hannah. She is a dog that you just know was never given much in her past home as she is just so appreciative of everything you give her including your time and affection. She is a very low maintenance dog and just wants to be wherever you are, doing whatever you would like to do.

We have had her around a lot of people and although a bit aloof with people she doesn’t know at first, she has always been friendly and allowed anyone to pet her. We have had her around a number of children including a 2 year old and she was fine. She is not shy with people but doesn’t go running up to people she doesn’t know. She is currently living with three other dogs and a cat and is friendly and well behaved with all of them. On our walks she has met dogs ranging from Chihuahuas to Great Danes and she is good with all of them. She is very excited when she sees a dog when we are out walking and will pull a bit, tail wagging) and greets them nicely.

She is generally very quiet in the home and just wants to be with her people doing whatever they are doing. She is completely house trained. We have never used a crate for her as she doesn’t need to be crated. She has been left for a normal working day with no issues other than she will bark for a bit when you first leave but settles quickly. She has never been destructive or gotten into anything she shouldn’t. When we get home she greets us lovingly with a wagging tail.

Baby is very well behaved in the home. She doesn’t go on furniture, is never destructive and doesn’t beg for food. She always wants to be near you whether you are washing dishes or working on your computer. It doesn’t appear that anyone has ever taught her basic commands but that may be because she is just so easy to live with. She would do well with someone that would work on her skills such as sit, down, etc.

She could also use a bit more work on her leash training. She loves to go for walks but was very timid at first walking with her tail between her legs but as time has gone on, she is enjoying it much more and is happy to make new friends along the way. She does pull from time to time and she will bark when someone on a bicycle goes by and is still timid when loud trucks go by. Most of this will be taken care of as she become more familiar with all her surroundings. She wants to be with you so going for car rides is fine with her and she will jump right in but then goes to the floor to lie down.

Baby is a special dog who is outgoing but timid about loud noises. She is aloof but once she knows you, she is so happy to see you and has lots of love to give. Very sweet girl. She would do best in a quiet, stable home. She would love someone who she can spend as much time as possible with and is patient and understanding. She needs someone who is willing to build her confidence and has lots of love to give.

If you have room in your heart for this special girl and would like to give her a forever home, please go to our main website at ulgymuttsdogrescue.com and submit an application for consideration.
