My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Email were4dogs@gmail.com for an application. Please read entire ad. No meet and greets until the adopters application is approved. Only applicants with older children or no children in the home considered due to his small size. If your application is approved, you will receive a call as well as a contract to sign and return. NO LONG DISTANCE ADOPTION ON PUPPIES.

Freddie is 13 weeks old (5/13/2017) and weighs approx. 8 pounds. He's still very much a puppy and eager to learn and bond to his family. Recent pictures are sitting up. He and his litter-mates were late weaning. He is ready to go to his home and bond with his family. He is a doll baby and he's smart and eager to learn.

4/13/2017 - The vet detected a heart murmur in Freddie when he had his first shot. She did say heart murmurs sometimes go away when the puppy gets older, usually gone by 15-18 weeks when the valves close.

UPDATE: Murmur was faintly detected on 5/5/2017 at second puppy vaccine. Vet expects the murmur to go away entirely.

Freddie's tri-coloring is beautiful and will be a little scruffy ( hard to see in pictures) on his chest, ears and legs. His tail is black with a white tip. His ears are changing and may stand in the weeks ahead. His Mother has prick ears. Because he is longer like a dachshund, we think he may be a Dachshund mix. His mother is an Australian terrier Chihuahua mix weighing a healthy 10 pounds and having longer hair. He doesn't look anything like her.

Because of his age and small size, we have not neutered Freddie yet. His adoption fee includes his neuter before 6 months old at our vet, a participating vet, or at the Alabama Spay Neuter Clinic. We can adopt out of the area with contract once we contact your vet. As a registered animal welfare organization, we are required by law to sterilize all of our animals. We must guarantee that our animals will never produce any offspring.

Freddie could be a go anywhere dog. He lives to give love and kisses! He will play with his sister or toys. He will need basic obedience training and house training. Please be prepared to train your new puppy or take basic obedience take classes.

We cannot guarantee breed, coat, colors, or size as an adult. We expect Freddie to be under 20 pounds as an adult, however he could be a very small dog. And he came into this world a smooth coat, but he is becoming sort of scruffy.

Vet reference and home visit required with approved application. $350 adoption fee includes neuter (as described above) age appropriate vaccines, Wellness exam from a Licensed Veterinarian (he's had two!), regular dewormings, for a house raised well socialized puppy who will love you and be your loyal friend for the next 15+ years!
