Nanuk's Story...

MY SISTER BOUGHT NANUK FROM A PHILADELPHIA BREEDER. HE IS A WOLFDOG, 30% CONTENT TIMBER WOLF, MALIMUTE, AND HUSKEY. HE IS STILL LEARNING AND LOVES TO CHEW UP PAPER IF HE CAN GET TO IT. HE KNOWS BASIC COMMANDS, STOP SIT, DOWN ( LAY DOWN ) WITH ASSIST, OFF, SHAKE, NO ETC. HE SLEEPS ON THE SOFA, UNDER MY BED, OR ON MY BED. HE LAYS BY MY FEET, OR IN THE KITCHEN. WE HAVE OTHER DOGS AND A CAT. THEY ALL GET ALONG. HE NEEDS A HIGH PROTEIN DIET OF KIBBLE AND RAW CHICKEN, BEEF, FISH. OTHERWISE HIS STOOLS GET RUNNY. I AM RECOVERING FROM A KNEE REPLACEMENT AND NOW A BROKEN FEMUR. I JUST AM UNABLE TO HANDLE A STRONG DOG WHO LOVES TO WALK MOM. I WOULD LOVE FOR HIM TO HAVE A ACRE OR MORE TO RUN AND A 6" TO 10" HIGH FENCE. HE IS VERY LOVING, BUT DOES HAVE WOLF TYPE BEHAVIOR. YOU NEED TO HAVE LOTS OF PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING OF WOLF BEHAVIOR.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nanuk, a Pinetop Alaskan Malamute/Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Alaskan Malamute/Husky for sale in Pinetop, or seeking a Alaskan Malamute/Husky dog from a breeder in Pinetop.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pinetop already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pinetop breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Alaskan Malamute/Husky breeders who help with Alaskan Malamute/Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pinetop paves the way for another one to be saved.
