Nicholas (Nick for short), is a very handsome 10 - 12 month old male Shepherd mix who weighs in at 45 pounds. He's a nice-size dog who will grow to be a little heavier as he matures, probably topping out at 50 - 55 pounds.

Nick came into our program after he and his sister, Nelly, also for adoption, were abandoned by their owners, left in the fenced back yard to fend for themselves when the owners moved away. Fortunately, they were spotted by some kind people who began caring for them until they could get into the Out of the Woods program.

Now in foster care, Nick is blossoming into the great dog he was destined to be. He is a very smart boy but has a short attention span ... that's the puppy in him. He still has plenty of puppy energy, but does contain himself when he needs to. He has fallen in love with his foster parents and wants to stay close to them ... probably due to his insecure life he had before arriving into the program, but that is already improving.

Nick is in a foster home with several other dogs of all shapes and sizes and does well with them all. He lives in a home with a doggie door and is 90% house trained using the doggie door and he's so smart, he will be trained by the time he is adopted ... he is brand new into foster care. He will need a fenced back yard for safe playtime. He is terrified of a crate ... we are not sure why that is and it could probably be worked on to make it more relaxing for him.

After playtime with all his siblings, Nick is ready to cuddle on the sofa or in your bed ... he's quite the snuggle bug!

Nick has been fully vetted (neuter, microchip, wormed, rabies and yearly shots). He is ready to go and is going to make some family a wonderful pet!

Adoption fee for Nick is $150. To be considered to adopt this handsome boy, start with our Adoption Application. Simply copy and paste the following link into your browser:
