Tessa's Story...
TESSA is a beautiful and fluffy brown tabby female who looks like she has a little Maine Coon in her. She is estimated to be about 2 years old. She is such a sweet girl with lots of love to give. She likes being held, LOVES sitting on a lap and getting her chin scratched, and prefers being petted to running around and playing. Tessa was rescued by a WCDC volunteer who found her abandoned in his neighborhood, and she has been living in a loving foster home. When rescued she had scabs from a flea allergy, so it's important that she be kept flea free. She is good with older children, but we don't know how she would do with active young toddlers. She seems to be OK with other cats who are mellow and aren't aggressive with her. Tessa is very talkative and has an adorable rusty meow -- she lets you know that she wants attention as soon as you get home. She always uses the litterbox smf is good about not scratching the furniture or climbing the curtains, but she does like to sharpen her claws on the carpet. This mellow and affectionate young girl is a champion snuggler. H er adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. Tessa is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FELV, microchipped, deflead and dewormed and comes with a free vet visit. She is currently at PETCO in Eugene (1169 Valley River Drive, just north of Valley River Center). For more information, please call BETH at (541) 255-9296.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tessa, a Springfield Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Springfield, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Springfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Springfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Springfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Springfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
