MYA!'s Story...
MEET MYA!

This adorable little Torbi (tortoiseshell/tabby) is named Mya! Mya is 7-8 years old and came to City of Elderly Love after being found as a stray in Philadelphia and brought to the animal control shelter. Little Mya was badly in the need of a dental cleaning and some extractions so a City of Elderly Love foster family stepped up to help her recover before finding her forever home!

Mya is so tiny (only 7 lbs!) and is often mistaken for a kitten! She loves to be around people and will follow you around the house. She enjoys relaxing with you on the couch, purring while you scratch her ears. She is also very energetic for her age and likes to toss her toys around and play like a little kitten! She can sometimes be a little skittish and will run from sudden movements, but her curiosity wins out and she will come back to you for pets. She loves food and isn't picky about it. She will beg for treats and come running when she hears the bag! She's a well-mannered kitty who uses her scratching post and gets along with all the other pets in the house (she's currently living with other cats who she gets along with well and other dogs who she thinks are "meh, alright"). Mya would likely do well in a home with children as long as she is given a fair chance to adjust to her new environment. This sweet little lady is going to complete one lucky family!

Her recent dental cleaning and extractions has left her feeling much better than when her teeth were dirty and painful. She has no trouble eating or playing though and her mouth is completely healed! Mya is a healthy, happy girl.

Mya is currently residing in our adoption kennels at Pet Supplies Plus in Phoenixville! Stop by to meet her any day at 700 Nutt Rd. Phoenixville, PA 19460!

Mya is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is also FIV and FeLV negative. Interested in meeting her? Visit www.cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

MYA!, a Philadelphia Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Philadelphia, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Philadelphia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Philadelphia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Philadelphia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Philadelphia paves the way for another one to be saved.
