Kimchi's Story...

Introducing honorary chihuahuas Kimchi and PadThai! These pekingese darlings are a 4-year-old bonded pair found roaming a shopping center. Kimchi is the female. She weighs 11 lbs and has an old injury to her back leg that makes her walk a little funny, but her "sea legs" don't slow her down at all. PadThai is the male and weighs 16 lbs. PadThai can't imagine life without his Kimchi. These kids appear to have lived outdoors, and we can't wait to find them an INDOOR home where they will be spoiled and doted upon. Because they are a bonded pair and need each other, they must be adopted together.

If you would like to adopt Kimchi and PadThai, please fill out an application at Their adoption fee, including vetting paperwork, microchip registration to adopter, collar & harness, is $300.

Texas Chihuahua Rescue is based in San Antonio, Texas. All of our adoptable dogs are located in the San Antonio area. Additional photos and videos will be made available to potential adopters upon approval of our online adoption application. Transport arrangements will be made upon application approval and completion of the adoption agreement.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kimchi, a Houston Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese for sale in Houston, or seeking a Pekingese dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese breeders who help with Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
