Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile, I’d love to meet you. Let me tell you a little bit about adopting me.
My name is Fauna and I am a 2 year old female Shih Tzu who came to the kind people at NBS Animal Rescue when my family lost their home and I ended up in a big loud shelter. The shelter workers reached out to my foster mom and dad to try to help me and my sisters Flora and Merryweather and the rest is history!
I am a sweet little lady who loves to snuggle with people I trust. I am a mellow girl for the most part, but once I'm comfortable I do like to play a bit. I can be a little nervous in new situations and around new people at first so I would prefer a quiet and calm home where my family was home often and is quiet. Because I can be nervous around new people and quick/loud movements I would do best in a home that did not have small children under the age of 12. I do get along well with other mellow and gentle dogs who like to snuggle but won't overwhelm me when we first meet.
I'm doing well with learning how to do my personal business outside and I walk nicely on a leash. I take treats very gently, and I am an expert level snuggler! I'm up to date on all of my vaccines and I will be going to the doggy doctor this week to be spayed then I'll be ready to go home to my fur-ever family!
My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me?
These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Family who is gone no longer than 5 hour periods.
-Children must be 12 yrs or older with dog experience as she is easily overwhelmed.
If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:
1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
