My name is Ozzy!

Australian Shepherd Mix Dog for adoption in Farmington, Minnesota - Ozzy

I found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Ozzy's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Ozzy's Story...
Ozzy is a year old Australian Shepherd mix who came from another shelter. He weighs about 37 pounds. Needs a fenced yard - he has energy and loves to play! He needs a family who is familiar with herding breeds. They need their exercise and do best when they have a job. Best with kids 12 and up because sometimes they can try to herd the kids too! Needs work on his manners - he will jump up!

Adoption events are stressful, and Ozzy doesn't do as well there - so please contact his foster to meet him.

Adoption Fee: $300 ( cash only , no checks)

Last Hope, Inc. is an all volunteer, foster based, no kill rescue! You can see almost all of our dogs on Saturdays from 11-3 at the following locations: Apple Valley Petco on 42 and Cedar and at the Burnsville Petco on 42 and Aldrich.

Policies: You do not have to have a fence to adopt a dog from us, but some dogs will require a fence or acres to play. Also, Since preschoolers are more likely to be bit, we do not place dogs in homes where children under the age of 4 are present.
The Adoption Fee is not enough to cover the vet bills. Sales tax of almost 7.25% is also included in the adoption fee that you see. Please consider donating to Last Hope to help us save these animals!

CAN YOU FOSTER? By taking a dog or puppies into your home temporarily and then coming to our adoption days to help find them homes, we can save more! If interested, please email mail@last-hope.org and tell us your phone number and what you would like to foster and someone will get back to you! Check our webpage and click the picture of the border collie on the side to learn more about fostering too!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ozzy, a Farmington Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Farmington, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Farmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Farmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Farmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Farmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
