Lotus has a remarkable story! Lotus is blind and was fighting for survival on the streets of Thailand as a stray. She was taken in by a woman who had too many dogs and was put back on the street and could not be located for weeks. Once she was found, a Thai rescue organization sent out an urgent plea for a foster in the United States. Lotus' foster mom accepted and the organization flew her by plane to the United States after shots and quarantine.

This young adult shepherd mix with fabulous ears is very smart and figured out a doggie door in just 2 days. She loves squeaky toys and any toy at all, since she never had any. She wags her tail and body whenever she hears her foster mom's voice. She loves affection and laying with humans.

Lotus is very protective of her food when other dogs are near. A survival instinct she learned on the streets of Thailand. Because of this, we feel she would do best in a home with no other dogs.

She was examined by an ophthalmologist and it was concluded that she does see shadows.
