Dixie's Story...
This little cutie is our one and only Dixie. She is a 12 week old lab/border collie mix that is ready to take the world by storm. She is an active girl that loves everyone and everything. Weighing in at 14 pounds right now, she will be a good size dog for a family or person with an active lifestyle. If you are looking for a hiking, jogging or biking buddy, she could be the girl for you.

**All Compassion in Action dogs must be adopted by families willing to have their pets be a part of their family and must be allowed inside—especially at night. No dog is allowed to be put on a “tie-out” or chain outside and should be walked on a leash when not in a fenced yard.

**All Compassion in Action dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccinations prior to adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Southington Labrador Retriever/Border Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie for sale in Southington, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Border Collie puppy from a breeder in Southington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Southington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Southington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Border Collie breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Southington paves the way for another one to be saved.
