My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Noah would be that perfect companion for a dog-loving adult family that is searching for a true best friend. At just about 12 - 18 months old and 7 lbs, Noah is a very portable guy that can be a full-time companion.. accompanying his guardians everywhere a small and very sweet dog is allowed. Noah's wonderful foster mom found a carrier for him...it's perfect for keeping Noah close and secure while socializing him to the outside world.

Noah was a last-minute save for us...he would have been euthanized in a dismal New Mexico shelter if kind rescuers hadn't stepped up. But how could they not have? This little dog is just so awesome with his whole life lying in front of him. He just requires the gift of patience and understanding..and time to acclimate to his new home in his own way.

Noah came from a life that was heartbreaking. It's clear that he was unloved and disrespected in a puppy mill. He was used, in the most awful conditions, to create more high-priced puppies..and so the cycle of abuse goes on. Noah was one of the very lucky ones that got rescued and transported to dog-loving Colorado. He was incredibly lucky again to be placed with an intuitive foster who knew exactly the right thing to do. She and her family assessed Noah's challenges from his previous life and spent a month or more simply making him feel safe. Through their efforts, Noah has emerged as a sweet and loving dog who will grace a home with his resilience and new-found love of life.

Noah may be frightened initially since rehoming is scary...but with love, treats, patience and nurturing, we feel certain that he will emerge as a loving family member who will bring his special gifts to his favorite people as well as gentle, like-sized companion dogs.

We envision Noah with a patient and kind retired couple or individual...he would be overjoyed with the time he could spend in their laps and enjoying everyday life together. It's not that Noah is a needy guy...he just loves the company of his humans who respect and love him exactly as he is.

Noah is being fostered in the Denver area. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
