My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Precious Is Ready to Leave her Pain Behind
5-year-old, female, medium, black and tan, German Shepherd
Good with other dogs: No
Good with children: Unknown
Good with cats: Unknown

What horrible time this poor girl has had. She came to SPR from Maricopa County Animal Care and Control and we were lucky enough to get help from our incredible network, including PACC911, to help pay for all the vet bills to help this pretty girl finally be pain free.
Precious had horrible ear infections and a large hematoma in her ear. She was likely suffering and in pain for a long time. We don’t know much about her background, but we know she is one brave girl. But don’t worry, other than some ear cleaning, we think Precious is as healthy as can be and his ready for a new life.
Precious is really a sweetheart. She’s had to endure multiple vet appointments and surgeries and still manages to love attention from people. Our volunteers have enjoyed watching this girl blossom after finally being relived of her pain.
We aren’t sure if Precious is good with other dogs, but we do know that she seems to be reactive when walking by other dogs on a leash or near the kennel. So, we’d suggest that Precious would be best as an only dog. We also don’t know if she’s good with children, but given that she really hasn’t had any training, it’s probably best that she be in a home with older children, so she doesn’t accidentally knock them down.
And any potential adopter will need to ensure that Precious receives regular training and plenty of exercise. Now that she’s feeling better, it’s her chance to shine and learn what it means to be a happy and healthy, well-behaved GSD.
Please fill out our online application to get the approval process started. We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. All staff members are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many juggle family and full-time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient, as sometimes it takes up to 5 days to process an application.
