Blossom's Story...
Blossom is very sweet and outgoing. She loves people other dogs and cats. As a typical puppy she is chewing on shoes and the big dog's ears. She also loves to run around and play with them. We do not know the parents, but she appears to be an Australian shepherd mixed with a smaller breed, so she will probably be a smaller size when she grows up. Blossom will be available to meet people and for adoption on Friday April 7th.

Most adoptable dogs will need some reintroduction into a home, potty training, basic manners and social skills. Please be prepared to provide the training and dedication needed to provide your new pet the time and training needed to become his/or best possible companion.

If you are interested in meeting or adopting one of our pets or have questions about the process please see our website at www.adoptmountainpets.org or call the Shelter between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday. 970 626 2273

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Blossom, a Ridgway Australian Shepherd puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Ridgway, or seeking a Australian Shepherd puppy from a breeder in Ridgway.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ridgway already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ridgway breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ridgway paves the way for another one to be saved.
