My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Suri Is the Perfect Companion for an Active Family
10-12-month-old, female, black and tan, German Shepherd
Good with other dogs: Unknown
Good with children: Unknown
Good with cats: Unknown

This pretty girl is just a sweetheart looking for the perfect family to call her own. SPR rescued Suri from a shelter in San Diego recently because, well, who can resist this face! And our hunch was right on. Suri is a very sweet and smart dog that would make a wonderful addition to an active family.
We don’t know much about Suri’s background, but we do know how amazing and sweet she is. She loves people so much! She even knows a couple of commands, so someone must have loved this girl once upon a time. She walks well on a leash and is very smart. So, she would be the perfect companion for a runner, hiker or even a daily walker. We don’t really know how she gets along with other dogs yet, she does seem to be a bit reactive when walking by other dogs’ kennels. But once she’s out and about, she is ready to go run and play.
This young girl has lots of energy and it’s important that any adoptive family be committed to further training and to providing plenty of mental and physical activity for this sweet, beautiful girl. We are confident that she’ll be the picture of a well-mannered and smart family dog.
If you’re interested in meeting Suri, please fill out our online application to get the approval process started. We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. All staff members are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many juggle family and full-time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient, as sometimes it takes up to 5 days to process an application.
