Bear's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Bear's Story...
He was terrified when he came in. Barking at the kennel door. Freezing and staring at us with wide eyes. Tensing his entire body. It was awful. But then... oh, but then... we met Bear. The real Bear. The one who lives to love you. The one who gives you kisses and hugs and wants to play and be by your side for ever and ever. Once he realized he could trust us, Bear gave us his heart, and we are so happy to know him. He is just 2 years old. He is reactive because he's scared of new situations. But once he's got his person by his side, Bear can learn to be brave. When he went in to the vet to be neutered this week, we admit that we were all a little worried. But he stayed calm, he accepted treats, and he curiously sniffed people with relaxed body language throughout the ordeal. We were so proud of this guy. We've been told that Bear is good with other dogs and non-reactive toward cats. He doesn't seem to mind the dogs here, and he was happily curious about the ones he met during his vet outing. We think that with the right dog, Bear could love having a canine companion. But he's really all about his people. Once he's yours, he's all yours. It'll take some time for adopters to see him as we've come to know him, so if you've got a little extra time and patience, we encourage you to visit with him. The moment you've earned his trust -- well, you just can't beat it. What an amazing feeling.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bear, a Meridian Mixed Breed (Large) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mixed Breed (Large) for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Mixed Breed (Large) dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mixed Breed (Large) breeders who help with Mixed Breed (Large) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
