Hi there, I'm Stitch! I'm a 6-month-old neutered male Shih Tzu/Miniature Poodle mix. I weigh approximately 9 pounds right now, but I have a little bit of growing to do. Once I'm full grown, I'll still be a small dog - perfect for a travel companion! I'm sweet, friendly, playful and adorable, just as you'd expect from a puppy. I get along great with people and other dogs. There are no strangers in my book, only friends I've yet to meet!
I arrived here by way of the South LA pound, where I was turned in as a stray. I had gotten into a fight with a big dog, and I got roughed up pretty badly. I had several wounds on my back and chest that were repaired surgically by the vet at the shelter. They stitched me up and sent me to rest in a cage, where I waited for someone to adopt me. I sat in the medical ward for a week before finally, one day, I found myself in a car on my way to CageFree's facility. Once I got here, the staff took one look at me and named me Stitch! No surprise there. They sent me to their private vet to have my wounds evaluated and treated. The vet added a couple of staples to fully close the lacerations, prescribed a course of antibiotics to prevent infection, and sent me on my way.
Now I'm waiting patiently for my perfect forever home to come along. I'm looking for a family that likes to play and cuddle. Since I am still a puppy, I would really benefit from training, too. Most importantly, I want a family that will show me the unconditional love I've always deserved!
