My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When we are asked about a special rescue pup that is snuggly, sweet and very fun-loving, we can't help but think of Georgia. Her smile is shining...and maybe just a bit mischievous.

Georgia's rescuer knows it's morning when Georgia's head comes under the blanket...getting closer and closer..and then a big kiss and a wag. This curious and really, really smart 18 - 24 month old, 35 lb mix is a great best friend...such an ideal size - perfect for walks, playtime and just right to take everywhere a sweet pup is welcome.

Georgia is a truly great companion. There are just a few signs that she was in a very scary situation. She is sometimes shy and can hold back..but a warm hug and reassuring words..and Georgia bounces back and cuddles just a bit closer.

We picture Georgia as the best friend to active retirees. She'd be so loyal.. and overjoyed to share her love and good will. There's also no question that Georgia would be the most popular girl on the block. Once comfortable, she loves to engage and just be her entertaining, adorable self. Even though Georgia is usually up for pretty much any activity, she's not pushy or yappy. Exercise..perhaps long hikes to enjoy the beauty of Colorado..and mental stimulation that comes from time spent with her humans will keep Georgia happy and fulfilled.

Georgia would also enjoy time with gentle, dog-loving kids. Georgia is an easy-going pup..but we wouldn't want her tail being pulled or anything but the gentlest of handling. She derives so much joy from her relationships, we would love to see her in an active family that just loves her dearly...she's a great dog who deserves this in her life. It also appears (after some research on our part) that Cattle Dogs and Cattle Dog mixes are wonderful. They tend to be so cute, incredibly smart and the most devoted of companions. If you combine that with the energy and inquisitive nature of all herding dogs... you end up with a humorous, fun and loyal family member.

Georgia will require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (salmon oil would be a great supplement choice) to keep her coat healthy with a cottony-soft feel. With proper coat care, clean conditions and less stress in his life, Georgia's coat will grow in healthy and silky-soft.

Georgia won't be spayed when she arrives in Denver - while we request it, there just aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of New Mexico. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Georgia's spay and microchip after her arrival in Colorado if our Denver vet is used.

Georgia will be arriving on transport on Saturday 4/8/17. We're currently accepting applications for this wonderful dog. If interested in this sweet and very loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
