Kody's Story...
Kody is an independent guy- he likes people but needs a lot of time to warm up to you. Kody is not too much into toys, instead he enjoys hanging out with one person all the time. Kody is a very special boy who needs a home that will tend to all his needs. He currently is in foster care because he has separation anxiety. He cannot be left alone for very long. He is also a dog that needs space. He may come up to you for petting and love, but sometimes he changes his mind and will give you clear signals to give him space. He loves food and is very motivated by treats. He already has a great training background and would do best in a home that has only one or two adults that he can bond to and that are home very often with not much commotion. He should be the only animal in the household. If you are interested in Kody and think he may be a good fit for your home, please give the shelter a call and set up a time to meet him!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kody, a Naperville Schnauzer (Standard) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Standard) for sale in Naperville, or seeking a Schnauzer (Standard) dog from a breeder in Naperville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Naperville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Naperville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Standard) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Standard) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Naperville paves the way for another one to be saved.
