My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Nixon, the most strikingly handsome young Cane Corse mix you will ever set eyes on!

Nixon is a very loyal and fun-loving dog with his people once he gains your trust. The most important requirement Nixon needs is an experienced home with the type of dog that is not everybody’s best friend right from the get-go. Nixon’s new home must gain his trust and once you get that you will have the world’s most affectionate and loving companion you could ever ask for, there is no doubt about that. Nixon needs a home that understands he needs time and patience to become the best of friends without being pushed out of his comfort zone and to work at his pace…like we always say…slow and steady winds the race. The same applies for the most amazing companion you could have in Nixon.

Nixon is a young playful dog that enjoys playing tug and with his toy balls. He also enjoys going for walks as well as ripping around in a decent sized fenced yard. While Nixon is an active boy and loves to play, he also enjoys being a lap dog getting lots of belly rubs, watching t.v. on the couch and one-on-one time with his favourite people. He will shower you with love and a hilarious display of full-on body wiggles when you get home or when you wake up in the morning. He wiggles his body and tail so vigorously with love that he literally beats his side like a drum with his own tail!

Nixon would be best suited for a very laidback and quiet home environment, preferably a quiet country or suburban life. Nixon also gets quite attached to his people, so a home where his people work from home or are able to be home more often. would be in his best interest and true happiness. Due to his size and strength, Nixon is looking for a home with no young children nor cats. Nixon is respectful with other respectful dogs yet we feel he would be in all his glory not having to share his people. We cannot stress enough how bonded, loving, and loyal he becomes with his people.

Nixon is fully housetrained and non-destructive in the home. He is also well on his way to being crate trained and will enter his crate when asked to “get in your bed” command. He is also neutered, up-to-date with all vaccines and heartworm tested.
If you feel Nixon is right up your alley for your lifestyle and wants, please fill out an adoption application or contact us at anmlresq@hotmail.com.

****Only experienced homes will be considered for our handsome Nixon.****

***NIXON UPDATE***

Nixon has been doing well in foster care. Nixon is well past the "unsure" stage with both foster parents and has proven to be a very reliable and fun-loving boy. He lets us touch all 4 feet, attempting nail trims will be tried soon. He lets us touch his ears, inside his ear, his mouth, his tongue, clean his eyes, and absolutely loves belly rubs, etc, keeping in mind we maintain a respectful relationship and reading his body language. Nixon is still not a big fan of being separated but has shown improvement in settling quicker when he cannot be in the same room. Nixon is a very playful dog as well. He thoroughly enjoys playing with sticks and doggy toys in the yard. He is pretty agile and quick on his feet darting from one end of the yard to the other and showing off his toys. Nixon LOVES to snuggle with his people on the couch. Nixon is great in the car and is fully aware that going through drive-troughs means getting treats. Nixon has also bee getting better at meeting new people. He cannot be pushed to being best friends with everyone he meets from the get-go but seems to be a little more comfortable with new people around and I have noticed he responds quicker to meeting women.

Right now, Nixon is napping contently on my lap after sharing some popcorn. Life doesn't get better than that!
