Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Say hello to sweet little Nellie!
Nellie, a 10 year old, 5 lb Yorkie, was rescued from Animal Friends of the Valley in Wildomar, CA.
Nellie came from a hoarding case of 26 Yorkies and Chihuahuas. The public adopted some of the dogs, and the Humane Society took many others.
Sadly, Nellie was left behind, because she has mammary tumors, and is severely undernourished.
Nellie has all the signs of being the victim of a backyard breeder, or puppy mill. When she was rescued, this precious girl trembled, paced back and forth, and was very timid. She did not know how to act in normal doggie ways.
Nellie is now eating well, and starting to gain some weight. Our foster's pack is teaching her to be calm and playful, and she is beginning to trust. She likes to be picked up and cuddled.
Once she is a healthy weight, Nellie will have surgery to remove her tumors. When she heals from the procedure, Nellie will be available for adoption.
If you are interested in giving this sweet girl a loving, forever home, please submit an application at www.savingk9livesplus.org
You can keep up to date about Nellie, as well as other doggies in the care of our rescue, by visiting our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/savingk9lives
If you would like to meet any of our doggies, Saving K9 Lives adoption events are held on the first and third Sundays of each month, from 11 am to 2 pm, at Centinela Feed and Pet Supply, 16571 Ventura Blvd, Encino CA 91436.
Thank you for choosing to adopt and save shelter dogs.
