Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Old King Cole was a merry old soul - until he found himself captive in a southern Illinois county pound! He was never claimed, and so he made the trip 'upstate' to Adopt-A-Pet to find his new forever home. Cole was placed in a temporary short-term foster home, and after hiding for just a few days then started to creep out and want attention. This foster mom says: "He's really sweet and lets my 4 year old follow him around and pet him, and taking treats right out of her hand. He's also starting to come up to us and ask for affection." After Cole's quarantine in the foster home to make sure he was healthy, we moved him to our satellite adoption center inside Wilmette Pet Center. However, the bustling atmosphere of the store and the cage confinement was too much for Cole and he got very stressed. He has now been moved back into a longer-term foster home where it took him virtually no time to acclimate and he has reverted back into the sweet, gentle cat that we saw a glimpse of when he first arrived, spending much time in his new foster mom's lap.
So what we can say we know about Cole is he a very handsome 2 year old male with a soft grey coat like a Russian Blue and light green eyes. He is a quiet cat who loves to be pet, and is extremely affectionate once he gets to know you and is comfortable in his surroundings. He is comfortable with children, and even quite content to be on the receiving end of a younger child's excited affections. When he's not nudging you for snuggles, he loves to sit at the window and watch the world outside. He wants to be your sleep buddy and is a great snuggler. He does not have a problem with the resident dog in his foster home, but he does tend to want to dominate the other cats. Therefore, we recommend that he be the only feline in the home, although a dog buddy will be fine. He needs a home with a quiet atmosphere as he does not seem to react well to chaos, busy-ness or noises. Whoever gives this sweet cat his forever home will be just as lucky as him. His sweet disposition will melt your heart.
Cole's adoption fee of $115 includes: vet exam, Feleuk/FIV test, FVRCP (distemper combo) vaccination, rabies vaccination, flea/tick control, routine deworming, microchip and neuter.
