Jovie's Story...
I was part of a large colony of cats and kittens living in Plant City. The property owners fed us very well and would pet us when we allowed. Our population grew so big St Francis Rescue stepped in to help. After spaying, I was put in an awesome barn to recover with all my relatives while the trappers were busy catching the rest of us. During that stay a foster from St Francis realized how sweet many of us were and decided to take us in home to give us a chance at living the life of an inside kitty. I am so thankful I wasn't released immediately back to the property I came from, nobody would have known how sweet I am. Please consider me, and maybe one of my beautiful sisters, for your Forever Pet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jovie, a Tampa Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Tampa, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Tampa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tampa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tampa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tampa paves the way for another one to be saved.
