My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oh sweet boy, we'll do our best. He has an appointment with the vet for a blood work up, is on high quality food, and has been dewormed. We're hopeful we can figure out what the cause of weight loss is in this sweet soul. What we do know is that he is very sweet. He curls up in his crate and blankets and quietly rests. He loves the other dogs and found the pigs to be a joy to run along the fence with. This sweetheart of a boy deserves an amazing long term home and guardian once he is healed!

Update on Kodiak. I know a lot have been wondering but we've been working with him to get his stools solid and his digestion kinks figured out. He's been with us almost 2 weeks and is making progress!

Update! Kodiak is thriving! In 4 weeks he was up to a healthy weight and able to be neutered. He is an amazing dog! He loves people, walks well, would be a great jogging buddy or walking partner, he is kind, respectful, gets along with everyone and every animal he meets to include the pigs, baby goat, cats, other dogs, and ponies. He is such a nice boy! He is allergic to grain so once we learned that and got him on a grain free food that worked for him, he flourished at rescue. This boy deserves the BEST home! He is not like the "average" husky. He is calm, mellow, loving, not too hyper or talkative, and does well on a leash. He can be a tad shy and is definitely not a dominant dog in the group. He's just perfect!

If interested in meeting and potentially adopting please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. The adoption fee is $175 and all residents are fully vetted prior to adoption to include slay/neuter, vaccinations, dewormings and microchip as well as any additional known medical needs cared for. *breeds cannot be guaranteed* *if a yard is present, it must be securely fenced* *housetraining is not guaranteed. Our primary focus is behavioral rehabilitation and medical treatment leaving basic training to adoptive families. Although we work with crate training with all residents, we've found that training assists in developing a bond and establishing boundaries and behavior in a home with a family. Even dogs who are displaying housetrained behaviors at rescue can regress in a new environment and routine*
