Facts about Winnie

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Unknown
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 11260150
  • Hair: Short

Adorable Winnie is a huge fan of pets and can't get enough of them! Her fosters say that she'll never decline an opportunity to be pet, and "when she's being pet, she's a crazy squirmer, rolling around all over and always purring because she likes it so much." She's very affectionate and will sometimes gnaw gently on your finger when she's feeling playful.

As she's still learning to trust people, Winnie can get a bit skittish and likes to have her own "safe space" where she's happiest interacting with others. She's quite smart and likes to arrange her blankets and other objects to create a fort for herself. She "keeps getting better and more confident all the time" and is sure to continue to grow in a loving home!

Winnie is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, and $50 to adopt.

Cat Town is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, formed by long term volunteers from Oakland Animal Services (OAS) and other Bay Area shelters. We have partnered with OAS to take the cats who are least likely to do well in a shelter setting. About Cat Town

About Our Rescue Group...

Cat Town is a 501(c)(3) cat rescue organization based in Oakland, CA. Formed by volunteers of Oakland Animal Services (OAS) (Oakland's municipal shelter), our mission is to find homes for the cats least likely to be adopted from OAS because they can't handle the stress of the shelter environment. By getting these cats into foster homes, they can relax and show their true personalities to potential adopters. We focus on older semi-feral kittens, stressed, shy or undersocialized cats, and cats who are older and/or have special needs. We are a relatively new organization and are all-volunteer run. We operate on a shoestring budget so can always use financial donations, as well as food, litter and other supplies. We are always looking for great foster homes and volunteers for everything that we do. Helping these vulnerable cats is pure joy! Please contact us at info@cattownoakland.org to get involved.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our cats are in foster homes, mostly in Oakland, CA, but some are in surrounding cities. Our fosters are generally very flexible about scheduling cat introductions.

Our Adoption Process...

All of our cats are in foster homes, mostly in Oakland, CA, or other nearby cities. We will talk to you by phone to make sure the cat sounds like a good fit for your home before setting up an introduction in the foster home. We have a pretty straightforward adoption application, which you will be asked to complete only after you have met a cat who you want to adopt. Our adoption fees for kittens and cats up to age 7 are $50 for a single cat or $75 for pair; cats age 8 an older are $35 for a single cat or $50 for a pair. All cats are spayed/neutered, current on their vaccinations and microchipped. Cats age six months or older are tested for FIV/FeLV.
